COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECTS
WALK THE WALK
Yard Signs:
Students may make yard signs to encourage residents in their neighborhoods to vote on election day. After the signs are made, students should place them in their yard.
Tent Cards:
Students make posters or tent cards reminding citizens of election day to place in businesses in the community.
Election Day Party:
There are parties for Valentines, Thanksgiving, and Christmas so why not have a party to celebrate the freedom of voting? Not only will it encourage students to vote when they reach 18, but will also serve as a reminder to parents to vote. We suggest having the party on election day and having the students bring snacks. You can download “I Celebrated Election Day” stickers on the internet.
